P.6 Enjoy Viking Workshop
On Thursday 6th April Primary 6 pupils enjoyed a fun interactive Viking workshop led by Rita Calwell from The Active Learning Company. Children participated in a range of activities for example; dressing up as a Viking, making flour with a stone quern, playing a strategic Viking game called Trip, Trap, Troll, sword training and spear making. They had the opportunity to handle Viking artefacts, weave friendship bracelets and to decode a secret message in Viking runes. The Unexpected arrival of Magnus the Viking was met with a few screams but he soon put the children at ease and taught them all about Viking weapons.
This ‘hands on’ experience really brought the Viking topic to life. Children participated enthusiastically, increased their understanding and most of all had lots of fun!
