STEM Workshops with Newbridge and St. Francis Primary

In May and June sixteen Primary six pupils were selected to work on a STEM project, organised by Newbridge College, with P.6 pupils from St. Francis and year 8 pupils from Newbridge College.  During this project pupils went to Newbridge for four sessions and got to do 'lots of really cool stuff' for example create, test and launch their own rockets.  They also got to design their own car and race each others' team designs to see whose was the fastest and most successful design.  In a further workshop pupils got to race each other with Scalelectrics, which was really exciting and got a little competitive!  Lots of challenging thinking, interesting Science and even some Maths made all of our P.6 pupils have to stop, think and problem solve!  Lots of budding Scientists in this group!

A huge thank-you to all of the staff and year 8 pupils in Newbridge, who made us all feel so very welcome, in particular Mr Thompson and the rest of the staff in the Science department.
